What are laser skin treatments?

Laser is an acronym for Light Amplified by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.  This is a long explanation for focusing light energy at specific wavelengths. We use several types of lasers in our office. Dr Krueger has a long history of interest and experience dating back to his days as a laser instructor at University of Minnesota in 1993.

KTP

The KTP laser has a very specific wavelength of 532 nm making it perfect for treating red or dark brown lesions. Often red is a broken vessel that many people have on their face especially around the nose and on the cheeks. This easy treatment does not require any topical anesthetic, just a cooling gel for patient comfort. You can return to work the same day with some increased redness for 12 hours. Many individuals with rosacea combine topical treatments with KTP for optimal results.

CO2

Dr Krueger calls this the best value in treatment of aging facial skin. This laser uses fractionated technology to create thousands of tiny “holes” in the skin, up to 40 percent of the skin can be removed in this controlled fashion. This allows regrowth of new younger skin, collagen deposition and reduction of pigment.  This laser does typically require sedation and has a recovery of 5 days. Call today to see if you are a candidate.

Clear and Brilliant

Is the newest of our lasers and features fractionated technology. This creates thousands of microscopic holes in the skin; the healing allows replacement with healthier younger skin with reduced pigment.  This simple procedure takes about 30 minutes. We apply local anesthetic gel to make it more comfortable and you can return to work or any other activities on the day of the procedure. One treatment will give you a beautiful glow but we recommend a series of 3 over 2 months for maximum effect.
