Lasers have been used in skin treatment for more than 60 years. Just like Krueger Aesthetics, lasers are constantly evolving. We stay on top of the latest advancements in laser technology. Our team in Mukilteo, Washington, is pleased to spotlight five types of lasers/laser therapies that can bring your skin’s beauty and health to the surface without the risk.
KTP stands for “Potassium Titanyl Phosphate” (the “K” refers to potassium’s symbol on the periodic table of the elements). This laser generates a very specific wavelength, which is ideal for targeting the source of red or dark brown skin discoloration. It is particularly good at fading the appearance of visible, broken blood vessels on the nose and cheeks. These skin concerns are often associated with rosacea, and our team may combine KTP with topical therapies to manage this common dermatological condition. KTP also treats effectively without damaging the surrounding tissue. So, it is considered a safe, predictable, and well-tolerated treatment (it only requires the application of cooling for comfort – no anesthetic necessary).
Discover the best value in anti-aging treatment – the fractionated/fractional CO2 laser. This laser can deeply penetrate the skin to support improvements to stubborn or severe signs of aging without the risks and extended recovery time associated with earlier-generation CO2 lasers. The magic behind this laser is its ability to treat fractionally, or a fraction of skin at the time, by producing small openings or perforations in the skin. This approach to treatment facilitates targeted collagen production and healing. So, the skin that grows back is much firmer, less pigmented, and silky smooth.
We think this laser system is brilliant because it, too, features fractionated technology. By creating thousands of micro-columns in the skin, we promote the growth of fresh, healthier, and undamaged skin cells. This option is one of the best ways to minimize pores and fade dark spots on the market today. Clear + Brilliant® is for patients who desire a true “lunchtime” treatment. It takes only 30 minutes to complete and can be done by applying a topical numbing gel to the treatment site(s). There is minimal downtime, and we recommend three treatments over two months. You may notice a considerable boost in your skin’s “glow” after a single session.
Are you seeking dramatic rejuvenation? The erbium laser may be right for you! Unlike other technologies on this list, erbium lasers are ablative. This means they remove the outermost layer of pigmented, lined, wrinkled, scarred, and otherwise damaged skin. Removing this tissue reveals fresh skin and healing response is stimulated. You can get big results with a minimal time commitment, too, as our team treats your trouble areas in less than an hour with our unique handpiece that delivers wavelengths into the deep dermal layers of the skin for intense exfoliation and resurfacing.
Pellevé â„¢ is different from the other systems mentioned here because it uses Radiofrequency energy to hit the skin deeply. This thermal energy then works wonders on lax, saggy, wrinkled skin and different types of depressions caused by structural changes in the lower layers of the skin. It may be appropriate for laxity and wrinkles on all skin types, the face, the neck, and other body parts. Our patients appreciate that Pellevé â„¢ treatment can be done in an hour and is truly “no downtime.” You can get back to your normal schedule right away. The best results are typically seen over several weeks and with three to five treatment sessions, as producing new collagen to tighten the skin is a process. It takes time but is worth it once you notice the tremendous results.
At no time in the history of laser therapies have there been more options to improve your skin safely and predictably. To find out what laser treatment may be best for you, request a consultation at Krueger Aesthetics today. Call our Mukilteo, WA team at (425) 876-9999.
