Krueger Aesthetics has a long history of bringing new aesthetic treatments to the Mukilteo, Everett, Snohomish County, and Whidbey Island, Washington area. Our team, led by Dr. Claire Murphy, distinguishes itself from other practices with our proprietary line of medical-grade skin care products: KRx Medical. There is a significant difference between being able to customize effective products and having the knowledge to develop your own successful products. As needed, we advise on in-office procedures to complement a tailored skin care regimen for aged and sun-damaged skin.
Generally, no single “silver bullet” exists to reverse signs of aging and sun damage. Plus, some products that may be good for others may not be the best option for you. For this reason, we would like to start with a skin evaluation/consultation. During this visit, we will closely examine your skin concerns and create a personalized plan. The No. 1 thing that any patient at any age can do is to always wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen. This product should be applied daily, even when cloudy and overcast. It should also be reapplied when sweating or swimming.
It’s also important to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Dry skin can make emerging and worsening wrinkles look more noticeable and pronounced. Our team is also happy to discuss trusted in-house products, like KRx Medical’s HA Physical Tint SPF 44, a water-resistant physical sunscreen that has the added benefit of giving your skin a nice glow, and our Age Defense Intense Hydrating Complex with natural extracts to repair a damaged skin barrier. Our proprietary Vita-CE serum with ferulic acid is also formulated with the “gold standard” in vitamin C (both in terms of quality and quantity). This sets our vitamin C apart in its ability to reverse stubborn brown spots and other signs of aging, starting in just two weeks with diligent, daily use.
In addition to using the right products, professional resurfacing services may be in your future. Dullness and a dry, leathery texture can indicate that old skin cells are building up on the surface. The process of cell turnover involves new skin cells migrating their way up from the lower layer of the epidermis to the outermost layer, or the skin’s visible surface. In our 20s, this process can take 20 to 28 days. As we get older, turnover slows down, and the dead, damaged cells can accumulate, making our skin look less than its best (and feel that way, too). For instance, in our 50s, it takes 45 to 55 days for new cells to find their way to the surface. Resurfacing at our office promotes the shedding of old, dead cells and the renewal of new ones to promote a healthy glow (and so much more!).
Two types of treatments that we offer involve accelerating cell turnover with lasers and special formulations or “peels.” While we can choose from different lasers, which are carefully selected based on your needs, these systems generate energy and heat to “regrow” the skin and its building blocks (like collagen). Our suite of advanced lasers also includes technologies that treat a fraction of skin at a time to remove damaged skin cells while promoting collagen from deep within – all this without the risk of earlier-generation ablative (“wounding”) lasers.
Peels are also highly customizable. Depending on the solution we use, the peel can treat the outermost layer of the skin or penetrate more deeply. More superficial peels can get great results, but largely require more treatment sessions. Deeper peels often result in dramatic results in less time but are associated with some healing and downtime.
Krueger Aesthetics has also invested in an array of energy-based devices like Pellevé®. Whereas some treatments already mentioned here can have a tightening effect, they may be limited in their ability to treat laxity or loose skin and substantial folds. However, Pellevé® is made for skin tightening. Instead of laser energy, this technology uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to safely heat the skin and stimulate the production of collagen, the protein so beneficial to our skin’s plumpness. Our bodies start making less collagen in our 20s. By replenishing this building block of our skin, Pellevé® can tighten and make under-eye bags, a saggy neck, jawline, and deep facial folds look significantly better. Additionally, our CO2 laser provides both skin resurfacing and skin tightening benefits. We have a full array of powerhouse products and technologies!
You don’t have to go under the knife to feel good about the look and feel of your skin!
