Krueger Aesthetics is a pioneer in the safe and precise use of non-surgical, injectable cosmetic treatments. In fact, Dr. Ronald A. Krueger was the first provider to bring Botox® to the Mukilteo, Washington area in the 1990s. Today, there is a “newtox” on the block – and that alternative is called Jeuveau®.
Jeuveau® and Botox® fall under a category of treatments called “neuromodulators.” While this term is a mouthful, it simply refers to injectable treatments that interfere with the nerves’ ability to tell specific muscles to contract. In turn, these types of injections “ modulate “ the neural activity responsible for expression lines. An expression line cannot be made without muscle activity. Crow’s feet, frown lines, and other concerns are addressed by blocking the muscle activity.
Only the treated muscles remain relaxed. Since so many muscles contribute to a single subtle expression, this process, when in the hands of a knowledgeable and skilled injector, allows you to still look natural and normal – not like your face is “frozen,” suddenly incapable of moving as it once did.
There are differences between Jeuveau® and Botox®, as well as between Jeuveau® and other newer neuromodulators like Xeomin® and Dysport®. Notably:
This “newtox” may also be appropriate for the neck and around the lips, in addition to lines and depressions in the upper third of the face. We can walk you through everything to expect before, during, and after treatment, including ways to support sustained results and maintenance needs. But first, is Jeuveau® suitable for you? Or is another one of our many injectable or other aesthetic therapies more appropriate?
