Powering a confident look and renewed outlook with non-invasive and natural PRP for hair loss

Krueger Aesthetics is no stranger to keeping pace with advancements in aesthetic technologies and techniques. So, Aesthetic Medicine Physician and Physician Injector Dr. Claire Murphy and our team in Mukilteo, Washington, are pleased to introduce an exciting alternative to invasive hair restoration to our neighbors in and around Snohomish County. This injectable treatment encourages your body’s reparative and restorative capabilities to regrow your full, thick, healthy head of hair.

How do you treat hair loss?

After an evaluation, Dr. Murphy may determine that you are a good candidate for PRP injections. PRP stands for “Platelet Rich Plasma.” We use this natural and healing therapy in many ways, including to improve the appearance of signs of facial aging and sun damage.

What is PRP?

A “platelet” is a type of blood cell. Critical to clotting, platelets have special growth factors that encourage cells to multiply. When liquid plasma is “enriched” with these natural healers, it may be injected precisely into the tissues that need it the most. Once injected, it repairs the damaged areas.

How do you concentrate or “prepare” PRP?

PRP is made by gently taking a small, fresh sample of your blood. It is then placed in a special machine (centrifuge) and spun rapidly to isolate the powerful platelets. As an autologous treatment that involves using substances from your own body, PRP is a safe, predictable, and low-risk option for hair restoration and other aesthetic applications.

How does PRP help with hair loss?

When PRP is injected into thinning areas, a process is triggered that increases blood flow and activates the hair follicles. Each new hair grows through these tube-like structures. PRP’s power and benefits do not stop there. It also helps to extend the growth phase. Hair grows cyclically, so a longer “anagen” phase, when hair is actively growing, supports renewal and slows down the shedding process.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

If you and Dr. Murphy decide to proceed with treatment, the areas to be treated will be completely numbed for your comfort. After drawing blood, it will be prepared to create PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), which is then injected into your scalp. These injections are administered quickly, and there are no scalpels, incisions, sutures, or scars involved.

Before you leave, we will review instructions on how to care for your scalp and hair after the treatment. We now also offer the KRx Hair Restoration System, which can be used alongside PRP. This system includes a medical-grade, lab-formulated shampoo, conditioner, and Rapid Growth Serum.

Additionally, Dr. Murphy can prescribe adjunct medication tailored to your needs, which can be sent to your preferred pharmacy after a consultation to determine the most effective combination of therapies. Hair loss is a deeply personal issue that affects many individuals, and Dr. Murphy believes that a “one-size-fits-all” approach is not ideal. A thorough consultation will help establish the most suitable treatment plan for each patient.

When will my hair grow back and be fuller?

No two experiences with any treatment are the same. Patient’s needs, characteristics, and responses to therapy are varied. What we can say for sure, though, is that PRP is not a one-appointment-and-done treatment. Injections may be scheduled at four- to six-week intervals for three to six months as needed. Once this initial treatment series has been completed, you transition to the “touch-up” phase to maintain those life-changing results. You may only need three or four additional treatments for up to 24 months at this stage.

As an appealing alternative to aggressive, invasive surgical options like hair transplants, PRP is a safe, well-tolerated, natural, minimal-downtime way to power hair health, a confident look, and a renewed outlook.
