The results from fillers generally last six months to two years. They owe their popularity to this durability and the relative ease of the treatment process, especially when compared to more invasive and aggressive options to smooth wrinkles and scars and to add volume to sunken, deflated, or hollow areas. Krueger Aesthetics is committed to a personalized treatment plan, including filler products formulated especially for lips. The following four points discuss the duration of the results and more about what to expect after treatment at our office in Mukilteo, Washington.
You have unique goals, needs, and physiology. While it’s said that most lip fillers last at least six months and can persist for up to 15 months, their “durability” depends partly on how your body metabolizes the formula. Of course, some products are also associated with longer results than others. As an example, we use Revanesse® Lipsâ„¢+. The makers of Revanesse® report that 65% of patients still had “improved” or “very much improved” lips six months after their treatment.Â
Our team will review everything to expect at all steps in the process once you have decided to move forward with treatment. Generally, there is minimal preparation, downtime, and after-care associated with fillers. However, you may wish to take a few days of oral Arnica supplement or apply topical Arnica to the lips to ease bruising, itching, swelling, and/or tenderness. We will also go over any symptoms that are not common and may warrant our attention. This includes blanching or a white appearance to the skin near the sites of the injections. Of course, if you are concerned about any changes, we need to hear from you. If it concerns you, it’s a concern to us. By trusting your injections to some of the earliest adopters of injectable cosmetic products in our region, the risks of persistent or undesirable side effects and complications are minimized.
Our patients love that these fillers get improved definition and volume immediately. However, as noted, swelling is a more common side effect. Do not be upset if your lips look a little more “volumized” than you had imagined they would be initially. As swelling subsides, you will see your final and natural-looking results. Usually, any swelling goes away within a week to 10 days. It should also be noted that 98.1% of Revanesse® Lipsâ„¢+ patients reportedly had “little to no swelling” after treatment.
As with other injectable products, lip filler is gradually absorbed by the body. Your lips will return to their original shape as this process occurs. At this time, you may wish to undergo touch-up or maintenance injections. You can also take steps at home to support the longest-lasting results. In particular, do not ignore your lips when applying a sun protection product. Hydrate your lips with gentle products and also keep your body hydrated. Good lifestyle habits help to promote collagen production and skin elasticity, which maximizes the effects and longevity of the lip filler.
