The answer to “How long does Botox® last?” depends at least partially on how we use this nonsurgical, injectable powerhouse treatment. Rest assured, any treatments at Krueger Aesthetics in Mukilteo are held to the highest quality and safety standards. And we have been applying Botox® for longer than any other provider in Snohomish County, Washington. Our patients know they can smile, laugh, and express themselves confidently without fear of the results from their treatment looking “off” or unnatural. Due to our experience and skill, patients’ results only improve with repeat injections. They can get the most out of every treatment.
Below, it is our pleasure to answer some of the most common questions about what happens after Botox®.
What are the side effects?
As a non-invasive procedure, Botox® is generally tolerated well by patients. Its side effects are limited to the injection sites and are usually minor and temporary. They include swelling, redness, tenderness, and bruising. By partnering with our highly qualified team, your injections are precise. Our skill helps to minimize the risk of undesirable side effects and potential complications. It also supports utmost safety and results that still enable natural facial movement.
Will I need to take time off of work?
No! Botox® can be completed during a lunch break. It takes just minutes to inject Botox®. Similarly, there is nothing to recover from as the process is not invasive. We can advise on ways to help with the redness or other common side effects. For instance, it is important to avoid rubbing or massaging the injection sites immediately afterward. Any time you place pressure on those areas right after treatment, it can increase the risk of the Botox® spreading or diffusing into other areas of the face and neck.
When will I start to see results?
Patients may notice improvements in the appearance of their crow’s feet, frown lines, neck bands, and more in a few days. For the treatment of migraines, you may notice improvements after the first month. The full effects are often felt after the second treatment session. To treat hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating[ML1] , you should see a significant improvement in around four weeks after just one treatment.
So, Botox® is not a permanent solution?
Neurotoxins like Botox® and other injectables (such as dermal fillers) get desirable results. Still, all of these nonsurgical procedures support temporary cosmetic enhancement or improvement in hyperhidrosis, chronic migraine, and other conditions. Botox® Cosmetic results should last for at least four months. For Botox® for migraines, the typical retreatment schedule is once every 12 weeks. Patients enjoyed considerable reductions in the frequency and severity of their sweating for up to six months with Botox®.
What is the “maintenance” schedule?
This is variable. Ongoing treatment is tailored to your unique needs. However, our approach at Krueger Aesthetics is to invite you to our office in Mukilteo, Washington, for a complimentary follow-up. During this follow-up, we will check that Botox® is working as it should be. Then, you return to us three to four months later for a “touch-up” treatment that is based on your one-of-a-kind facial “map,” which shows exactly where to inject Botox® (as well as appropriate dosing). The benefits of these unique processes notably include the capacity to refine one’s map at any time – so your results can look even better the second, third, fourth time around, and so on!
Of course, we can also advise you on ways to enhance the durability of Botox® and maximize your results with our proprietary line of trusted KRx Medical skin care products—call (425) 876-9999 to schedule your personalized consultation.
